Practice listening to silence. What do you hear in your environment? Let silence guide your ear to what going on around you. Make a note of how sounds effect you.

Listen to the world. We inhabit a variety of places each day, listen to the sounds it produces.

Tip: As musicians we learn to listen to our instruments, and feel how sound effects us in the moment. We respond to sound and what we hear. Train yourself to switch to listening. It’s a matter of changing your focus.
